Latin America Apple iBookstore opened for business last sunday, according to Simplíssimo (brazilian eBook publisher and conversion provider). The store seems to be also available in Argentina, Bolívia, Chile, Colômbia, Equador, Paraguai, Peru and Venezuela, and also for Central America Countries, including Mexico. Uruguai is not listed. Prices remain in dollar.

Also, DLD eBooks (brazilians most important ebook distributor) are also available. Apparently, Apple won the race against Amazon to reach Latin America and Brazil.

Apparently, we should expect an official announcement from Apple tomorrow, during the launch of the new iPad Mini – that might be strongly focused on eBook market than previously expected.

Here are two screens, one from iPad, other from iTunes, showing some brazilian eBooks now available for brazilian iTunes accounts.
